Captain Jack Sparrow Jack CostumeJack Sparrow Costume

(Available in Teen (38-40) and Adult (42-46))

Some would say that the most famous Jack is Jack Sparrow, the captain made famous in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.  You know, the somewhat silly captain.  The not-so-brave pirate captain who runs from fights, after he has stirred everyone into a frenzy.

You can look like Johnny Depp’s captain Jack in this swashbuckling costume.  We love the jacket!

This particular costume also comes with the two belts that buckle at the stomach, the belt that is slung over the shoulder, the white shirt and blue vest, the scarf that’s tied to one of the belts, the pants, a bandana with attached braids, and the hat.  Phew!  That’s a pretty complete costume.

Oh, yeah…   You also get the boot covers!

If you want to make this Jack costume even more authentic, you can add a pirate sword, as this isn’t included.

All around the Mulberry Bush,
The monkey chased the weasel.
The monkey stopped to pull up his sock,
Pop! goes the weasel.”

Okay, this was just too cute to not mention.  Sure, it looks like the baby has just popped up from the box, but we’ll let you in on a little secret:  The baby is actually lying down on his back.  See?  We told you this was too cute!

This costume is actually a one-piece tunic that the box is attached to.  Also included is the pointy clown hat.

This costume is adorable, but even more perfect if your son’t name is Jack…

There are those who would argue that Jack Skellington is the most popular Jack costume.  We don’t really who would win the Jack popularity contest, but we sure do love the “Nightmare Before Christmas” Jack!

You already know that Jack Skellington means well.  He truly does have his heart in the right place.  He just makes the wrong decisions.  The one thing we know is that Halloween will never be the same without him.

Enjoy this video of the song, “This is Halloween,” from Tim Burton’s classic, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”

The Nightmare Before Christmas” Trivia:

The music to this popular movie was written and performed by Danny Elfman, who has had a long association of doing soundtracks for Tim Burton films.  Elfman also provides the singing voice for the main character, Jack.

There were three trick-or-treaters in the film who appear to be children, though this is never confirmed.  Their names, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, are a spoof on the popular phrase, “Lock, stock, and barrel.”  They are the henchmen (even though one of them is a girl) to Halloween Town’s baddie, Oogie Boogie.

There are many quotes from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Our personal favorite is from a song: “There’s children throwing snowballs instead of throwing heads.”

Jack had the love of a good woman, though he didn’t know it until it was almost too late.  Sally the rag doll, who was created by Dr. Finklestein (yes, we are pretty sure that’s a play on the name of Frankenstein), was created to keep the not-so-good doctor company.  But Sally preferred to spend her time with Jack.

Sally foresaw the problems that Jack would encounter as he attempted to hijack Christmas Town.  She begged him to leave Christmas to Santa, but Jack wouldn’t listen to Sally’s premonitions of doom.

One of the most poignant moments in the movie is when Sally sings a song simply titled, “Sally’s Song.”  This sorrowful song tells of her unrequited love for the Pumpkin King, and how she fears tragedy is at hand.  She wants to stand by Jack, worries what will come of her dear friend if she doesn’t.

Sally has the unfortunate habit of coming apart, literally.  Sally unravels often, which is the side effect of being a rag doll.  However, this comes in handy and she is able to rescue Saint Nick by lowering her unstitched hand to him.  That puts a new twist on lending a helping hand!

Although not included in the movie, the soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas includes an epilogue.  In it, Santa is said to have returned to Halloween Town many years later, to check on Jack.  In this future time, Jack has four or five skeleton children.  Fans of the film are given their happily-ever-after on the CD, as we now learn that in Jack and Sally’s future they are married with children.

Jack is the king of Halloween Town.  More specifically, he is the pumpkin king, and we wouldn’t have him any other way.  Don a Jack costume and show your love for Jack!
